UPDATE..........
From Tom Kittinger

Due to a conflict of scheduling at the Legion, the August 12th rehearsal is CANCELLED!  That will give you some additional "vacation time" before our next rehearsal on August 26th so take advantage of it, and plan on being with the corps on the 26th.

In addition, there seems to be some confusion regarding the Lancers web site, so allow me to clear that up for you.  Ken Myers had to change email carriers and can no longer post the Lancers web site.  Jason Resh has agreed to continue to keep the Lancers web site as current as possible and it can be reached at www.hanoverlancers.com   Please make note of this change and you will no longer have difficulty finding it.

Thanks, and I'll look forward to seeing ALL OF YOU on the 26th.

York Revolution Baseball ...
From Tom Kittinger

Here is all the information from Brian you need to know for Saturday's gig at the ballpark:

WHAT:  Performance at York Revolution/Lancaster Barnstormers game.
WHEN:  Saturday, July 14
REPORT TIME:  5:00 PM
PERFORMANCE TIME:  5:30 PM (outside stadium) 6:15 & 7:00 (inside)
REPERTOIRE: Star-Spangled Banner, Georgia, Star Wars, Battle Hymn, Stars & Stripes, Never Walk
WHERE:  Sovereign Bank Stadium, York (directions/parking info below)
WEAR: Lancer Summer Uniform (Black Lancer cap, White polo shirt, Black "Dickies" shorts, Black marching shoes, white low-cut socks - let's improve upon the ankle socks some of us wore on July 4)
WHY:  It'll be fun, especially watching Bill Reese throw out the 1st pitch!  Fireworks afterward.  Sumo wrestling between innings.  Free Pizza Hut Breadsticks if the right guy strikes out.
BY THE WAY:  There will be a LOCKED Storage P.O.D. For instruments/cases.
DIRECTIONS:  For most of us-
Rte. 30 to light at George St.
Turn South (right if coming from Hanover area)
Proceed several blocks (5? 6?) to Hamilton Ave./Small Athletic Field Parking Lot
Turn Left & Park for $3.00
     To Drop Off Equipment:
Continue past Hamilton Ave., over the Codorus Creek to Arch St.
          Turn left
          Proceed 50 yds.
          Turn right
Proceed to top of hill to drop off area
          Retrace route to parking lot
There are other parking areas which, believe it or not, are quite secure but Small Field is the closest and there should be plenty of room from 4:45 - 5:00.  There are no "Free" parking areas of which I'm aware.
While the stadium area is still very much under construction, it's not nearly as bad as Jim Seip made it seem in his column a week ago.

UPDATE...
From Tom Kittinger

As a "ditto" to Brian's message of Saturday evening..............thanks to ALL who participated at Havre de Grace.  Sorry for those of you who missed the fabulous weather, the appreciative thousands along the parade route, the GREAT fire companies' Pit Beef/Turkey/Ham sandwiches, as well as the crab cake sandwiches from the Fair Grounds..............maybe you can put the date on your calendars NOW, and will be able to join us next year on Saturday, July 5th at 2:00pm.  It is a beautiful location, and a very short parade.

As Brian mentioned the other day, we had a very small horn line (20 to be exact) but ones who knew what they were doing for the most part, and we had all the parts covered, so the sound was pretty good...............not our normal "blow-your-socks-off" variety, but good!!  We're hoping for a much stronger showing on Wednesday morning in Dundalk & Towson.  I have already sent directions for those of you that are driving................just remember................you need to be in Dundalk by 8:00am

For those of you riding the bus..............we need to leave the Legion in Hanover promptly at 6:30am.  There are ALWAYS problems with traffic once we get to Merritt Blvd in Dundalk, so we will need that entire hour and a half to arrive with time to spare.  The information I have received from the parade organizers tells us that we are in section "R-3-11."  I really have NO IDEA what that means, other than the fact that Scotty thinks they divide the divisions of the parade into "Red-White & Blue."  If that is the case, then we should be in the FIRST DIVISION at least.  Not sure what the 3-11 would mean, but I guess we'll find out.

Hope you are enjoying this fabulous...........almost Fall-like...........weather we've been having, and we can only hope that it will last through Wednesday morning.  I have seen the extended forecast and the weekend and beginning of next week is to be back to the 90's with humidity to match!!  See you Wednesday morning.
